Cannot find any fault.

I love the location of the hotel and also that each room has a balcony with a view on the sea. The room was nice, bright and spacious. The breakfast staff was very chatty. But would not recommend to go there when is raining as there is completely nothing to do, unless you go to the pub/restaurant. Would not recommend to go there before beginning of the season as we were there in the mid of May and all restaurant/pubs were empty.

the helpfulness of the staff to non Italian speakers. The art deco ambience is almost a selling point. Peaceful

Located near to the beach and just off promenade, this hotel offers easy access to the sea and the park. the hotel is interested in selling the place to park, making it convenient for drivers. the service is friendly and the breakfast has a great variety of choices with delicious meals.
The TV channels have minimal English-speaking options, which could be a negative aspect for some guests.

We used Viareggio as a base to explore Lucca, Florence and the Cinque Terra. The hotel staff was very knowledgeable of directions, parking lots, tickets and the like. On their suggestion we drove to and parked at Monterosso as it was not yet high season; this would not be possible later in the summer due to demand. The morning breakfast was very valuable for us as we wanted to go exploring and not stop and eat elsewhere. We also enjoyed the quad room which was two bedroom and a separate bathroom which afforded some sleep privacy.

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is in a great location, close to everything and just a quick walk to the beach. The hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the breakfast was delicious with a big variety of options. The staff were kind and incredibly helpful.
Could not be improved in any way.

This hotel is spot on in terms of value for money. With prices so affordable, it's hard to believe the level of attention to detail they provide. The location is first class, within a short walking distance of shops, beaches, restaurants, and all the amenities on the passiegata. I also loved that there is parking available right outside the hotel, making it convenient for guests with cars.
All was perfect.

Great location only a few steps away from the beach, perfect for soaking up the sun. The breakfast selection is varied and plentiful, there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy. , the rooms are equipped with comfortable beds, making it easy to get a good night's rest.
The hotel is in dire need of renovation, the furniture and decor are old and worn out. the staff is unprofessional and not friendly, making it an unpleasant stay overall.

The Hotel Marchionni was old and historic, but very comfortable and well-maintained. The location is excellent, less than a block from the beach The staff spoke excellent English, and was very helpful. The price was very reasonable, and I must mention the included superb breakfast.

The hotel is ideally located right on the Viareggio seafront, just steps away from the beach. This makes it a perfect choice for those looking to enjoy some sun and sand during their stay. Additionally, the rooms are clean and have high ceilings, creating a spacious and comfortable atmosphere. The included breakfast offers a variety of options, including delicious wholemeal croissants.
Our stay at this hotel was fantastic and we had no complaints.

The desk staff were efficient, helpful, and had good English. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a good range of foods. The Marchionni has a relationship with Guido's bagno/beach club so that the hire of chairs, umbrellas is at a reduced price. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was very, very quiet. Thankfully, the room had air-conditioning and a safety deposit box, both included in the room price. The bed was comfortable. We loved the old, period feature of a cage-style lift that we had only seen in films before our visit!
Unfortunately, the bathroom was small and badly designed. Getting to the toilet necessitated a squeeze and a shimmy past the too-large sink!It was impossible to regulate the temperature of the water in the shower. The furniture was of very poor quality. There was some sort of ugly, back porch which was really just a place to dry towels and swimsuits. (The barbed wire on the hand rail was there to deter pigeons rather than cat burglars!) Really the saving grace of the room was the high ceiling. Furthermore, this hotel is at the far end of the promenade from the centre of things. It's a 20/25 minute walk to the market, port and bus station; 35 minutes to the train station. Taxis are ridiculously expensive - 10 euro for a short journey.
